Multi-talented Pablo Cairo, aka Mark Novick, the creative force behind San Francisco-based Cine-Magic Productions, was responsible for a handful of uniquely avant-garde films and videos shot in the mid 1980s. Included here are three rare Cini-Magic movies: DARK ANGEL (1983, 79 min. Jamie Gillis, Desiree Lane, Lynx Canon, Gail Sterling) Gillis plays as an obsessive character whose life spirals out of control after a freak encounter with an enigmatic young female who haunts, taunts and pulls him further into shadowy realms of twilight sexuality. DREAMS OF NATASHA (1985, 82 min. Nina Hartley, Janey Robbins, Lili Marline, Nikki Knights) A surreal narrative chronicles a shrink’s obsession with Patient 43, a young female stricken with bizarre sex dreams. VIDEO BONE (1986, 81 min. Gayle Sterling, Nikki Nights, Debbie Areola) Deadpan spoof of David Cronenberg’s VIDEODROME concerning a video editor’s equipment that manifests alternate sex realities.
